1.1 Due to prolonged domestic EDM (Electrical Discharge Machining) backlog at our Phoenix plant, Vulcan Precision Machining proposes reallocating secondary wire-EDM finishing and surface passivation for 500 units of P/N APD-718-402 to our long-term machining partner, Aerotech Finishing Systems S.A. de C.V., located in Querétaro, Mexico.
1.2 Technical justification: Aerotech possesses identical Charmilles 5-axis wire-EDM capability and NADCAP chemical processing certification. Tolerance capability matches ±0.0001 inches.
1.3 Logistics: Unfinished forged blanks would be shipped in-bond under Harmonized Tariff Schedule (HTS) 8481.90.90. Finished parts to return to Tempe for final quality inspection.
1.4 Compliance Status Flagged by Supplier QA: Supplier QA manager noted that while mechanical drawings contain proprietary markings, they were sent via commercial cloud file share to Aerotech's plant engineering manager (Mexican national) for toolpath validation on 2026-05-08 prior to formal authorization.
